Review Paducah Sun 9/12/11
The Paducah Symphony Orchestra's new season kicked off with a sensational and breathtaking performance from conductor Raffaele Ponti.
There are not enough adjectives to describe the brilliance of the evening's performance, which began with Brahms' "Academic Festival Overture" and was followed by the brilliant and astounding performance of violinist Michael Ludwig's playing Wieniawski's Violin Concerto No. 2. The evening was completed with a beautiful and moving interpretation of Tchaikovsky's Symphony No. 4.
I have to say that Paducah has now one of the best, if not the finest, symphony orchestra in this part of the country. And to top it all off, it performs in the glorious Carson Center performance hall with its exquisite acoustics.
Bravo! Bravo! Bravo! And a standing ovation to a great orchestra and a great conductor.
